We’ve just arrived home after our wonderful week at the chateau and I just wanted to get in touch to say a massive thank you for allowing us to share your heavenly home for a few days.
Apart from a couple of hours last Boxing Day it is the first time that we have been together with our four children, two sons-in-law and our three grandchildren, two of whom were born just before and during the lockdown. Seeing the three cousins get to know and play with each other has been incredibly special.
For families like ours, the chateau is a total paradise and despite the temptation to see the wider area we hardly left the premises, there was so much to do. We were blessed with great weather and even without the pool heating most of us enjoyed a dip (even me!) and the huge jacuzzi was great to warm up in afterwards.
The children also loved the trampoline and the climbing frame as well as the bikes and all the toys in the nursery. Gaby and Rob and the girls loved the space and privacy of the top floor and Franky & Jack had Max in the little room next to them in the red suite. The set up was perfect and the children all slept brilliantly allowing the adults time to relax in the evenings.
Our meal (with wine pairings) with Sebastian was an absolute triumph, one of the best meals we’ve ever had and we had a BBQ and another meal in the lovely conservatory outside the kitchen. Another night we babysat so the big kids could go out for a meal together in Cholet.
The billiard table was a huge hit with tournaments going on long into the small hours most nights and on one evening we even had an impromptu music session in the music room. The gym and yoga studio were also greatly enjoyed by Franky and Jack (who are now expecting baby no. 2!).
As for the chateau itself, we are completely in awe of the work you have all done in renovating and restoring this magnificent building. Every detail is exquisite from the panelling, the fabrics, the colours, the furniture, the artwork and the ornaments, every room is a masterpiece in itself and an absolute joy to behold. And to know that you created the beautiful garden design completely from scratch is mind-blowing. It looks as though it must have been there for hundreds of years!
So thank you, thank you, thank you from all of us for giving us an incredible experience with memories that we will all cherish forever!
